The Blake family is a family of witches that reaches back to the earliest days of man. They are the first of the magic families, hence why their power is so strong. That does not make them invincible, merely immortal. 

 

There are two dominant magic types in the family: earth and water. To date, there are only three known fire users: Nymira Blake-Burkes, Ava Blake-Sortis, and a distant ancestor - one of the first Blake witches. The fire users are the most feared because they have the ability to use dark blood magic that causes an addiction, therefore making them dangerous.
