Ava Blake Sortis

 

Ava was born many years after Nym's birth, just less than a century. Unlike her cousin, she knew from the time she was a toddler that she was a witch. Her mother - Nym's aunt - abandoned her when she was only a year old on Nym's doorstep. She left a note explaining that she could not handle a baby who used fire magic, that it was far too dangerous.

 

This left Nymira furious, and she took in the child and raised her like she would her own; she taught her how to use and control her magic, even going as far as taking her on a hit job once, in which Ava refused to murder the targeted victim.

 

Throughout her childhood, Ava struggled with learning since she had ADD. Nymira made learning interesting and fun for her to ease her erratic mind enough to focus, if only for a short time. Like Nym, Ava also suffered from depression. 

 

Because of her illnesses, Ava never felt competent, even though she was extremely talented with her magic. Her self esteem dropped the older she got, and it didn't even get better when she met her wife, Rowena Sortis - a witch who practiced earth magic. Rowena was a flirt, always flirting with any woman who caught her eye. When she first saw Ava, she fell head over heels with the gorgeous redhead.

 

They've been married for a long time, and throughout their relationship, they traveled all over the world, taking on assassin jobs to rid the world of the wicked and evil.
