Nymira Blake Sæbeorn Night Burkes

Nymira is the oldest of the known remaining descendents of the Blake line. In her early years, she did not know she was a witch. Her family purposely kept that fact from her when they noticed her playing with a ball of fire that seemed to come from nowhere as a baby. She was unaware that witches even existed until her 18th birthday, where she accidently set her cake on fire with nothing more than a clap of her hands.

Fire is not a common element of magic in the Blake line, and when a Blake witch has power over fire that usually means the user will gain an addiction if they use it for dark magic too often, which Nym fell victim to.

Angry that her family had kept the truth from her, she went into a rebel phase, casting fireballs left and right, nearly burning their cat, Ally, when she was 23. That same night, her parents kicked her out of the house and just after she walked out of the door, she heard a piercing scream and a shadow run off into the night.

Unbeknowst at the time, the Blake witches tended to have mental illnesses. Nym had what would now be called depression and severe anger issues. Many nights she considered suicide as an option, and instead of killing herself, she took the habit of killing others. She was a well known assassin in the supernatural world, and before she knew it many clients hired her as a hit-woman in exchange for clothing, food, shelter, and education in magic.

Her last hit as an amateur assassin promised great riches, but before she completed the hit, she discovered that the job was a trick; she was stopped by her current husband, Zayne Burkes, before she could be the target of a hit herself.

Shortly after marrying, Nymira and Zayne found refuge in Obsidian Castle, home of The House of Night. There she was trained as a professional assassin by Dark August Night, the matriarch of the Night bloodline. The House consisted of many different supernatural beings who wanted to begin a new life. Her cousin, Ava, was the one who originally found the House, inviting her and her husband to join.

Nym took on many jobs and resposibilities, ever grateful to Dark for taking her and what was left of her family - or so she thought at the time - in. She rose quickly in the ranks, having joined the Order of the Rose and Thorn, led by Dark's daughter Ophelia Virtutum Night.

Trouble one day arose in the halls, and the House lost many members. Despite it not being her responsibility, Nym did all she could to help heal the wound those who'd left had made.

One of those whom left was Aislin Sæbeorn Caderyn, Nym's witch sister. Though not blood related, they became close enough to call each other sister, and for Nym to take on Nadianna S. Leveau Night as her niece, though they would be best described as best friends.
