She chews on her bottom lip when she's in deep concentration. When sitting down, she crosses her legs at the ankles while tilting them over to one side.
Elisabeth has always been a very quiet person. When she attended Hogwarts, her nose would frequently be stuck in a book, or bent over a piece of parchment and a quill. Despite her "pretty face", Lis has always been an intelligent witch. She has a thirst for learning and knowledge, and even has the desire to learn more about the muggle world. In her spare time, she does research on muggle life.
Though quiet in nature, Lis has a sharp tongue. She tends to keep to herself, though she is courteous to any who strike up a conversation with her. The only time she will not remain introverted is when she sees someone in trouble. She loathes people who prey on the weak and will assist anyone being bullied when it is in her presence.
Journalists have a reputation for being curious and for doing anything to get a story. Elisabeth will only go so far; she does not wish to become someone she has fought against so many times. When she does interviews, she will inform the interviewee that should they feel uncomfortable at any point, to let her know. She is respectful to others' feelings, and cares very much about people over getting a story.
History
Elisabeth Nicole McNight was born on September 6th, 2025 in Cardiff, Wales. Her parents are Celeste Beaufort and Roland McNight. Both come from magical families, though Celeste graduated from L'Académie de Magie de Beauxbâtons in southern France while Roland is a graduate of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her mother became a bar maid at a small bar in Diagon Alley, while Elisabeth's father is employed at the Owl Post office.
Elisabeth's name is pronounced "Ee-liss-a-beth", different from the name Elizabeth, which is said with a hard "za". When she was a young child she had difficulty in enunciating her full name. Due to this reason, her parents nicknamed her "Lis", which is pronounced "Liss." Even grown into an adult, she still uses this name among friends. She uses her real name, however, when publishing stories in the Prophet.
Growing up, Lis oftentimes watched her mother with housework and and while she made potions, so before entering Hogwarts, she had a head start on understanding Charms and Potions. Both of these classes were her best academic subjects, though her favourite of the two was Charms. She loved school, and was very thrilled when she received her letter to Hogwarts. The thing she disliked most about school was being away from her parents. They had not had any other children besides Lis, so she was the only one in her family to attend Hogwarts at that time. Her father's side had passed away years ago, and any family she had on her mother's side were attenting Beauxbâtons.
During her final year, she was elected as Head Girl. To add to this accomplishment, she received all Outstandings and Exceeds expectations on all subjects with the exception of Defense Against the Dark Arts and Divination on her N.E.W.T.s. After graduation, she had the option of working as a potioneer, a journalist, or as an officer for the Department of Improper Use of Magic within the Ministry. While a student, she would always be writing in her spare time. She decided to make this hobby a career, and as soon as she left Hogwarts she applied for a reporter position at The Daily Prophet, which she got immediately. Since then, she writes for the potions, good news, and bad news sections.
